Allies Beta Screens & game information 56K warning....

Postby KiloAlpha4 » Sun Feb 18, 2007 4:00 pm

Here is a taste of the Allies expansion.

Had a great battle against some Bismarcks...tough ships...this sort of aar ? whatever has 42 screens with it lol to help tell the tale...

The Allies combined fleets are on a intercept course with german and japanese forces....the goal..sink the bismarck, VIIc and schnell boat comprised fleet of the germans in order to knock them out of the battle and gain a victory over the Japanese fleet.

While The russian and Netherland fleets begin to attack the japanese the british fleet moves in to engage the German fleet. I decide to move the U.S. fleet to a ambush position in the line of the approaching german fleet not wanting to attack the 4 Bismarck's head on with my 2 baltimores, 1 colorado , 2 destroyers and 2 carriers. The Other Allies begin their attacks initially launching aircraft to attack enemy assets and scout ahead.

The German airforce tries to mount a defence but is overwhelmed quickly..

with their airforce screen decimated it's a clear line to their fleet...

With the enemy now in range and the british open fire....

German fleet is ranged by the brits and the schnell boats go down fast...the germans return fire...

with the help of russian bombers, the brits score the first victory...

But it is short lived as they suffer the first major loss of their own...The Prince Of Whales...

With my fleet just moving into position I decide to scramble my planes and launch a major attack against the german battleships in order to take some pressure off the British who's head long charge is proving to be a costly error.

my torpedo bombers begin their first attack against the enemy battleships..

I send a scout in for a closer look...

with the first attack proving only marginally successful and the British losing their second and only remaining battleship, I had the good fortune of now having my fleet into ambush position as the German battleships move into range..OPEN FIRE !

still focusing on the remaining british fleet, the german battle group gets engulfed in a hail of fire..

Planes are rearmed and launch for second attack...

The germans lose 2 more battleships leaving one remaining but with damage...

The Battleships refuses to go quietly..... My fleet concentrates on the remaining enemy vessel..

While looking at the listing enemy ship, I think to myself " hell, what is this thing made of ? "

The fleet just keeps pounding....

and pounding....

holy moly....KEEP FIRING BOYS WITH EVERYTHING YOU GOT !

It can't take much more of this....

Finally the last enemy battleship surrenders to it's wounds and slowly sinks below the waves...

With the Russian and Netherland Fleets having taken care of the japanese fleet, all that remains is 3 enemy submarines easily dealt with....Though the Allied Fleet itself had taken heavy losses, a major victory was achieved this day.

thanks guys will post some more screens . Screens are unmodified and straight out of the game screenshot folder btw.The 5th one is a russian cruiser I believe. As for Illustrious believe around 40 but I haven't used that ship yet so can't say for sure. My allies were computer controlled.

Nice screenshots there Kilo', thanks for posting them.

Could you do me a favor and check to see if they gave the Iowa class battleships the square bridge in PS:Allies.

Thanks again.

thanks for the nice screens kilo,

Could you get shots of all of the new units and post them?

Also what can you tell us about the new features and how they 'improved or not' the gameplay.

And most importantly how's the AI. :D
